I am Dr. Tutu Habib, an economist, researcher, and passionate advocate for human capital development.

My journey began in 2017 with a simple mission: to help children master mathematics through engaging video lessons. That small seed has since grown into more than 400 math lessons, a thriving Learning Hub in Ogun State, and hundreds of young people mentored through academic and character development programs.

But my story is also one of research and thought leadership. With a Ph.D. in Economics and recognition as a Top 3 PhD Thesis finalist at the Nigerian Economic Society, I bring academic rigour to real-world impact, demonstrating that research and practice can meet in ways that transform lives.

In 2024, to mark the completion of my Ph.D., I launched The Palms Tutors Learning Hub, a first-of-its-kind free space in Awa-Ijebu where children can access a digital library of math lessons, a community library, and monthly mentorship sessions.

At my core, I believe education is not just about knowledge, but about nurturing changemakers who carry light into their communities. This is why my work emphasises character development alongside academic achievement, consistently advocating for ethical leadership and values-based education.

My expertise spans human development economics and educational development, with a strong focus on empowering youth as changemakers. I currently serve as a Lecturer and Grant Writer at Babcock University and as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Econometrics and Allied Research, University of Ibadan. 

Every step of my journey, whether in research, teaching, or community impact, reflects one conviction: holistic education is the bridge to human capital development, and human capital is the bridge to national transformation.
